This morning (10.6.25) I went for a ride on my electric bike. I left Red Houses and travelled down the railway walk on my usual route of about 10 miles. I got down just past Gunsite Cafe and suddenly there was a very loud “Crack”. I felt and spotted a flat back tyre instantly. I also realised I would have to push the bike back up hill to Red Houses, which I didn’t relish! At the same a chap popped his head over a property balcony and asked “what the heck was that?”. I explained and he very kindly offered to drive me up the hill. I quickly learned that it was Harvey himself. He kindly put my bike in the back of his van so I went from having been “down in the gutter” (pun intended!) to being roundly happy to find someone with such a great sense of community and helpfulness. My children and Grandchildren will all, as I am, very grateful for Harvey’s spur of the moment kindness.
